Introducing the Program
By the Montessori 2nd Year, children are becoming increasingly familiar with the prepared environment and are ready to engage with more complex and purposeful Montessori work.
Children have opportunities to explore the full range of Practical Life, Sensorial, Language, Mathematics, and Cultural Studies, building on the foundations developed during their first year.
As concentration develops, children are encouraged to choose more challenging work, repeat activities, and refine their skills through practice. They begin to take greater ownership of their learning and develop a stronger sense of independence.
Language, creativity, art, music, and cultural experiences provide further opportunities for children to express themselves, explore their interests, and make connections with the world around them.
The Montessori Guide observes each child closely, offering appropriate presentations and guidance while allowing children increasing freedom to make meaningful choices within the prepared environment.

What to Expect
Every child develops at their own pace. Our Montessori Guide observes, supports, and offers appropriate challenges as each child becomes increasingly independent.
Engages with more complex activities for longer periods, repeating and refining work with growing focus.
Uses a growing vocabulary to express ideas, ask questions, describe experiences, and share stories.
Explores letter sounds, sound-symbol relationships, and begins constructing words through hands-on Montessori language materials.
Counts, sequences, recognises numerals, and begins connecting quantities with their corresponding symbols.
Explores art, music, storytelling, and imaginative experiences as ways to express ideas and make meaning.
Participates more independently in Practical Life activities and learns to care for personal belongings, materials, and the environment.
Works alongside others, practises respectful communication, and begins developing cooperation and conflict-resolution skills.
Works with increasingly precise Montessori materials, strengthening fine-motor control, coordination, and purposeful movement.
Makes meaningful choices, takes responsibility for work, and develops confidence through practice, effort, and mastery.
The Curriculum
A thoughtfully prepared program offering richer, more complex experiences across the core Montessori areas as children develop greater independence, concentration, and confidence.
More complex everyday activities strengthen coordination, concentration, order, independence, and responsibility.
Sensorial materials help children refine their ability to observe, compare, grade, classify, and recognise relationships between objects.
Children move from spoken language toward early reading and writing through carefully sequenced, hands-on experiences.
Concrete Montessori materials help children develop an understanding of quantity, number, sequence, and early mathematical operations.
Children begin developing a deeper understanding of the world through geography, science, nature, music, art, and cultural exploration.

A Sensorial material that develops auditory discrimination, concentration, and the ability to recognise and compare different sounds.

A Mathematics material that introduces quantities and numerals while developing one-to-one correspondence, counting, and an understanding of number.

A Language material that connects letter shapes with their sounds through visual, tactile, and auditory exploration, preparing children for writing and reading.

A Language material that strengthens fine-motor control, pencil grip, coordination, and precision while preparing the hand for writing.

A Sensorial material that develops visual discrimination, concentration, coordination, and an early understanding of mathematical relationships through hands-on exploration.

A Cultural material that introduces children to the world, helping them develop an early awareness of land and water, geography, and the diversity of our planet.
