Introducing the Program

Building Independence Through Purposeful Work

The Montessori 1st Year is a gentle transition into the Montessori environment, supporting young children as their coordination, language, concentration, and desire for independence continue to develop.

The prepared environment is carefully arranged at the child’s level, allowing children to choose purposeful activities, carry their work to a table or mat, and return it when finished. These simple routines give children meaningful opportunities to practise choice, order, movement, and independence.

Language is naturally woven throughout the day. Through real-life experiences, conversations, naming activities, stories, and songs, children build vocabulary and begin connecting words with the world around them.

Practical Life activities such as pouring, spooning, transferring, dressing, and caring for the environment strengthen coordination and fine-motor skills while nurturing concentration, independence, and a growing sense of responsibility.

At Tyvy Montessori, we give children the time, freedom, and guidance to practise, repeat, and gradually discover, “I can do it myself.”

We follow the child, prepare the environment, and allow learning to unfold through purposeful work.
